Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu's Economic Policies

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have criticized President Bola Tinubu's economic policies, stating they are pushing Nigerians "dangerously close to the limits of human endurance" while exporting wealth and importing hardship. The ADC pointed to the recent increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N1,470 per litre, which has worsened transportation, food, electricity, and living costs.

Atiku Abubakar noted that local manufacturers are struggling with N2.14 trillion worth of unsold goods while the country exports increasing volumes of raw materials. The ADC's National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that every increase in petrol prices affects household expenditures, forcing families to make difficult choices.

The ADC emphasized that economic reforms should improve citizens' welfare, not worsen it, and criticized the government for failing to address the rising costs that families face. They asserted that the 2027 presidential election will present a choice between Tinubu's policies and their proposed economic program.
