Tinubu Hosts Jonathan at Aso Rock Villa for Talks

On Wednesday, former President Goodluck Jonathan visited President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja at approximately 4 PM. This meeting is part of a recurring pattern of consultations between the two leaders regarding political affairs in West Africa.

The visit was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to the president, who posted photographs of the meeting on social media. The two leaders appeared relaxed and engaged in discussion, with a document visible in the corner of the president's office.

No official statement was issued regarding the substance of their discussions. This meeting comes a few months after Jonathan's last visit to the villa in November 2025, which was in a similar capacity.

During that visit, Jonathan led a West African elder forum election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau, following a coup that resulted in the arrest of the incumbent president.
