Kwankwaso Blasts Tinubu for Fuel Subsidy Removal Impact

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized President Bola Tinubu for his decision to remove the fuel subsidy immediately upon his inauguration. During an appearance on Arise Television, Kwankwaso expressed that this action has plunged Nigeria into a severe economic crisis.

He stated that the consequences of Tinubu's decision were anticipated and have indeed materialized, leading to what he described as a "total mess" economically. Kwankwaso emphasized that Nigerians should have access to fuel at a more affordable price, indicating that the removal of the subsidy was done without adequate consideration of the potential issues that would arise from such a significant policy change.
