Tinubu Renews Grant Bugaje's NBTE Appointment for 5 Years

On Wednesday, in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed Grant Bugaje's appointment as the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for a second five-year term. This renewal follows the expiration of Bugaje's initial five-year term, which began on March 14, 2021.

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga noted that the renewal was based on a review of Bugaje's performance and his leadership record, which has significantly contributed to transforming the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector in Nigeria. Under Bugaje's leadership, the NBTE has undertaken a comprehensive curriculum modernization initiative to align technical education with global skill requirements.

The board has developed and reviewed 100 national curricula in line with evolving industry labor market demands. President Tinubu expressed confidence that Bugaje's second term would further strengthen technical education and skill development across the country, urging him to consolidate ongoing reforms and ensure the completion of critical initiatives already underway.
