Tinubu Appoints New Leaders for NECO and NBTE

President Bola Tinubu has made significant appointments in Nigeria's education sector, including Modup Adeola Adelabu as the new chairman of the governing board of the National Examination Council (NECO), retaining Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as the registrar. Babatund Salako has been appointed as the chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Additionally, Idri M Bugaji has been reappointed as the Executive Secretary of the NBTE for a second and final five-year term. Bongfa Binfa has been appointed as the rector of the Federal Polytechnic in Yak Shendam, Plateau State, succeeding Mukaila Zakari Ya U, whose tenure ends on March 16, 2026.

Chinwe Veronica Anunobi's tenure as Director General of the National Library of Nigeria has also been renewed for another five years, with a focus on technological reforms and the completion of the library's headquarters project in Abuja.
