Tinubu Appoints Wike as FCT Minister, Inaugurates Road

President Bola Tinubu appointed Nyesom Wike as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister to leverage his proven capability in delivering infrastructure projects. This announcement was made during the inauguration of the newly completed Federal Highway 105, which links the airport to Kuje township in Abuja.

The project, initiated in 2022, faced delays and was a source of hardship for residents due to gridlock and dust. Tinubu highlighted that the completion of this road would reduce travel time, ease traffic congestion, and improve access to markets, thereby boosting economic activities.

He urged residents and business owners to fulfill their civic obligations, such as paying taxes and protecting infrastructure from vandalism. Wike acknowledged the challenges faced during the project and praised the contractor's work.

He also noted that the project was part of the administration's broader agenda to stimulate economic growth and enhance living standards in the capital.
