Tinubu Nominates Tegbe for Minister of Power Role

President Bola Tinubu has officially nominated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe for the position of Minister of Power, seeking confirmation from the Senate. This nomination follows the resignation of former Minister Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue an electoral office.

The nomination was announced by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga in a release issued on Thursday. Tegbe's appointment is anticipated to bolster ongoing efforts to reform the power sector, stabilize the grid, and attract sustainable investments in line with the President's Renewed Hope Agenda.

With 35 years of experience in both public and private sectors, Tegbe has served as a senior partner and head of advisory services at KPMG Africa and has led various fiscal policy reform initiatives. He is currently the Director of the Global Liaison for Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), where he is responsible for strengthening bilateral development cooperation.

His experience includes significant engagement within the power sector, particularly with regulatory institutions such as NERC and NBET.
