Tinubu Swears in New Ministers for Power and Foreign Affairs

On May 6, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially swore in Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power and Sola Enikanolaiye as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials and the spouses of the new ministers.

Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, born in Ibadan, Oyo State, is recognized as a fiscal economist and reform strategist with 35 years of professional experience across both public and private sectors. Sola Enikanolaiye, hailing from Igbagun, Kogi State, holds a first-class degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has had a distinguished career as a diplomat, serving in various countries including Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the UK, and most recently as Nigeria's head mission in New Delhi, India.

Prior to their appointments, Adebayo Adelabu resigned from his position to contest in the APC governorship primaries in his state.
