Tinubu Calls for Unity and Tolerance During Eid-el-Kabir

President Bola Tinubu called on Nigerians to utilize the Eid-el-Kabir celebration as an opportunity to deepen values of tolerance, generosity, and peaceful coexistence. Speaking to newsmen after performing congregational prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, he urged citizens to reject ethnic divisions and hatred that undermine national unity.

Tinubu joined the prayers with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, and other dignitaries. He emphasized Nigeria's strength in its diversity and the need for collective aspirations for peace and progress.

Tinubu also highlighted the importance of valuing human life and denounced banditry. Vice President Kashim Shettima, who observed Eid prayers in Maiduguri, echoed similar sentiments, urging political leaders and citizens to approach the upcoming 2027 electoral season with maturity and tolerance, warning against divisive rhetoric that could threaten peace and stability.
