Tinubu May Seek Third Term, Says Babachir Lawal

Babachir Lawal, who served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, suggested in an interview with Symponi TV that President Bola Tinubu might run for a third term if he is granted long life. Lawal expressed concerns about the integrity of elections in Nigeria, stating that they are no longer free, fair, or credible.

He accused political parties of rigging their primary elections and predicted similar occurrences in the upcoming 2027 elections. Lawal described a scenario where the electoral process would be manipulated, leading to predetermined results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
