Tinubu Secures APC Presidential Primary Victory in Bayelsa

Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held in Bayelsa State on Saturday, securing a total of 227,192 votes. His opponent, Stanlei Osifo, received only five votes.

The primary was conducted across 105 wards in eight local government areas of Bayelsa State, with a peaceful atmosphere prevailing throughout the process. The results were announced at a banquet hall by the state governor, Douye Diri, who commended the orderly conduct of the party members during the exercise.

Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, also praised the transparency and success of the primary, noting the absence of major disputes. The primary is part of the broader exercise to nominate candidates for the 2027 general elections, with the process described as highly organized and peaceful across the wards.
