Tinubu Wins APC Ticket with 10.99 Million Votes

Bola Tinubu, the current President of Nigeria, has officially accepted the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination to run for a second term in the 2027 presidential election after polling 10.99 million votes. His main opponent, Stanlei Osifo of the Progress Congress, received only 16,503 votes.

The primary election took place across 8,809 wards in Nigeria, with a total of 12.643 million registered voters, of which 11.069 million were accredited, and 11.015 million votes were cast. Tinubu dominated the election, winning in 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and achieving 100% of the votes in several areas.

Osifo's performance was limited, with notable votes from Kano (2,675), Lagos (1,186), Abia (1,007), Oyo (929), Benue (779), and Nasarawa (768). The APC National Chairman, Nentewa Yilwatda, expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the primary, emphasizing mutual respect between the candidates.

Tinubu pledged to continue necessary reforms to improve Nigeria's economy and services.
