Tinubu Committed to Rescuing Abducted Schoolchildren

Vice President Kashim Shettima reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu is fully committed to the security and safe return of schoolchildren who have been abducted across the country. Shettima made this statement in Abuja on Friday, shortly after a special Juma prayer held at the National Mosque, commemorating the year’s Democracy Day.

He emphasized the administration's determination to restore peace and stability in Nigeria, despite ongoing security challenges. Shettima noted that the government remains irrevocably committed to this cause, stating that "no matter how long the night, the dawn will come." In response to recent kidnappings, including that of schoolchildren and a teacher in the Oriir Local Government Area of Oyo State, President Tinubu approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards.

Shettima urged Nigerians to continue praying for peace and stability, acknowledging the sacrifices of past heroes in sustaining the nation's democracy and calling for unity among citizens.
