Tinubu Seeks Senate Approval for NMDPRA Executive Directors

President Bola Tinubu has nominated six executive directors for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and has sent a letter to the Senate for their confirmation. The nominees include three reappointments: Mr Abiodun Adeniji as Executive Director, Finance and Accounts; Mr Ogbugo Kalu Ukoha as Executive Director, Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Dr Mustapha Lamorde as Executive Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Community.

The new nominees are Mr Mobolaji Tajudeen Musa as Executive Director, Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; Ms Ogechukwu Modie as Executive Director, Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and Mr Said Abutalib as Executive Director, Corporate Services and Administration. Upon Senate approval, all nominees will serve a five-year term.

Additionally, Tinubu appointed Mrs Jumoke Gafar as Secretary to the Board/Authority and Legal Adviser, pending completion of statutory processes under Section 46 of the PIA. In April, Rabiu Abdullahi Umar was appointed as the agency’s chief executive.
