NELFUND Praised by Ekiti Varsity VC for Transforming Education

Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences in Iyin Ekiti, described the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as “one of the greatest things to happen to university education in Nigeria.” He acknowledged that many students at the university benefit from this initiative, commending President Bola Tinubu for his support. During the university's inaugural press conference, Aribisala highlighted that the institution began academic activities in January 2026 with 1,564 students and currently has 35 departments across four faculties.

He mentioned plans to introduce new programs in Anatomy, Physiology, Nursing, Medicine, Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunication Science, and Tourism and Hospitality Management. The university's admission quota has been increased to 3,300 due to its rapid development, which includes ongoing construction of facilities and infrastructure.

Aribisala called for support from individuals and organizations to enhance the university's capabilities.
