Tinubu's Policies Boost Ogun State Federal Allocations

Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State and current senator representing Ogun East, commended President Bola Tinubu for the substantial increase in federal allocations to states, which he attributed to the removal of fuel subsidies. Daniel stated that Ogun State has received nearly four times its previous federal allocation, amounting to N330 billion, which has contributed to a total operational budget of N1.6 trillion.

Despite this financial improvement, he noted that the Ijebuland community in Ogun State still faces challenges in infrastructure development, particularly in healthcare and education. Daniel referenced ongoing federal projects in Ogun East, including a proposed federal medical center in Ijebu Ode and a naval base project.

He emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between federal and state authorities to expedite project delivery. Additionally, he revisited the controversial Dangote refinery project, indicating it as a missed economic opportunity for Ijebuland.

Daniel expressed confidence in his political support base ahead of the 2027 elections.
