Lagos State Announces Road Closures for April Inauguration

The Lagos State Government has announced temporary road closures across major corridors in the state on April 8 and 9, 2026, in preparation for the inauguration of significant infrastructure projects. The announcement, made by the Lagos State Ministry of Transport, urges motorists to plan alternative routes to minimize traffic disruptions.

The closures will specifically affect areas around Ikeja, Ojota, Ajegunle, and Victoria Island. On April 8, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, traffic is expected to be affected around Opebi and Allen Avenue in Ikeja.

Additionally, on April 9, two major events are scheduled: the inauguration of the Tolu School Complex in Ajegunle from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and another event at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and expect delays due to increased security and traffic control measures during these times.
