Lagos State Announces Road Closures for Tinubu's Visit

The Lagos State Government has declared temporary traffic restrictions across major parts of the state in preparation for the visit of Bola Tinubu, scheduled for April 8-9, 2026. This visit coincides with the inauguration of the Opebi-Mend Link Bridge.

According to the announcement by the government, the road closures will take place on April 8 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, affecting areas including Ikeja, Ojota, and Ajegunle. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays during this period.

On April 9, two separate events will occur, with the first at Tolu School Complex in Ajegunle from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and the second at Eko Hotel in Victoria Island from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where traffic is expected to build due to security arrangements and crowd movement. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be on ground to direct traffic and assist commuters, urging residents to follow instructions from traffic officers throughout the event.
