UCH Denies Toluwanisings Sought Treatment Before Death

The University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State, has confirmed it has no record of late gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings, being admitted for emergency treatment prior to his death on October 14, 2026. Toluwanisings reportedly collapsed at home while preparing to take his child to school.
His personal assistant, Babadunni Olayemi, alleged that the singer was taken to seven or eight hospitals in Ibadan but was denied emergency medical attention. Some hospitals reportedly cited a doctors' strike, while others refused to treat him.
This situation has sparked outrage on social media, with many linking the difficulties in accessing emergency care to a local strike by resident doctors at UCH. Funmilayo Enitan, UCH's Public Relations Officer, stated that the hospital had resumed services following the suspension of the strike and was unaware of Toluwanisings being brought to UCH.
Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, also expressed ignorance about the incident.
