Trabzonspor Parts Ways with Coach Fatih Tekke

Trabzonspor has officially parted ways with head coach Fatih Tekke after he submitted his resignation following the club's elimination from the Europa League play-off round by Hungarian side Ferencvaros, losing 5-0 on aggregate. Initially, Trabzonspor rejected Tekke's resignation, citing it was made under emotional distress from the defeat.

However, on Wednesday, the club announced they had reached a mutual understanding with Tekke to end their partnership in the interest of the club's long-term objectives. During his approximately 18-month tenure, Tekke was credited with significant contributions, including player development, sporting and financial gains, and winning the Turkish Cup.

Trabzonspor stated that the decision was made after discussions with Tekke, who emphasized he would not allow his presence to harm the club. Under Tekke, Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and will compete in the Europa Conference League this term.
