Traffic alert: Lagos govt announces diversion on Osborne Road

The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion along Osborne Road in Ikoyi from Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17. This diversion is necessary to complete key drainage infrastructure work, according to Commissioner of Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi.

The construction involves linking a new drainage channel on Modupe Alakija Crescent to an underground system beneath the median of Osborne Road. The operation will start at 10 am on Friday and is expected to be completed by midnight on Sunday.

A counterflow system will be implemented along a 100-meter stretch of Modupe Alakija Crescent to Alfred Rewane Road junction during this time. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to ease traffic congestion.

The road is expected to be fully reopened on Monday, August 18, with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) deployed to manage traffic flow.
