Lagos Begins Second Phase Of Ogudu-Ifako Bridge Repairs, Issues Traffic Advisory

The Lagos State Government has announced the start of the second phase of rehabilitation work on the Ogudu-Ifako Bridge in Kosofe Local Government Area. The project, which involves restoring the bridge's expansion joint inbound to Lagos Island, will run from August 19 to October 1, 2025.

To minimize disruption, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has issued a travel advisory with traffic diversions and partial closures. Motorists in the Toll Gate axis inbound to Oshodi and Victoria Island will face controlled diversions on the bridge, with vehicles channeled into a single lane for a 50-meter work zone.

LASTMA has deployed officers strategically to maintain traffic flow, enforce lane discipline, and respond to emergencies. Motorists are urged to cooperate, exercise patience, and adhere to the advisory to ensure a smooth traffic flow during the construction period.

Violators of traffic laws will be prosecuted by the Lagos State Mobile Court.
