Tragedy As 6 Dead, 19 Injured As Bus Somersaults on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

A tragic incident on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway resulted in the death of six individuals and left 19 others injured after a passenger bus somersaulted due to a tire burst near Osuponri Village. The spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the details of the accident.

The bus, carrying 27 passengers, was traveling at high speed when the tire burst, causing it to overturn. Akinbiyi stated that the impact of the accident led to the death of six occupants, including the driver, while the injured were taken to Ifo General Hospital for treatment.

Akinbiyi expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and warned against using fake or expired tires to prevent similar tragedies. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of overspeeding on the highways.
