Tears as Motor Accident on Damaturu–Kano Highway Claims 7 Lives

A tragic motor accident on the Damaturu-Kano Highway resulted in the loss of seven lives and left several others injured. The collision between a Sienna bus and a Toyota car in Warsalla village, Potiskum Local Council, was attributed to overspeeding.

Yobe State Emergency Ambulance Services confirmed the incident, with two children among the deceased and a dozen passengers sustaining injuries. Prompt response from the rescue team was credited with saving lives, as one driver involved in the crash survived.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrific, with one vehicle mangled beyond recognition. The accident has reignited concerns about reckless driving and overspeeding on the highway, prompting calls for improved road safety measures and public awareness campaigns in Yobe State and beyond.
