Super Eagles Captain Ndidi Loses Father in Tragic Road Accident

Super Eagles captain Ndidi's father, Sunday Ndidi, passed away in a road accident in Delta State. Sunday Ndidi, a retired military officer, was involved in a fatal crash and was confirmed dead after being rushed to a hospital in Agbor.

Besiktas, Ndidi's Turkish club, released a statement expressing condolences. Ndidi, who credits his father for his discipline and love for football, recently led Nigeria to a third-place finish in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he scored his first international goal.

Ndidi's goal celebration gesture was inspired by Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo, whom he admires. The Nigerian football community, including the NFF, is shocked by the sudden loss of Ndidi's father.
