Transcorp Energy Wins Bid for Renewable Power Expansion

Transcorp Energy, a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc, has been selected as the successful bidder to expand renewable power in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, with support from the World Bank. The project, coordinated by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), will implement renewable energy solutions and interconnect mini-grid designs that integrate with existing distribution networks.

This initiative aims to provide reliable electricity to underserved communities across Abuja. Chris Ezeafulukwe, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transcorp Energy, emphasized that this project marks a significant milestone in the company's commitment to expanding access to clean and reliable energy in Nigeria.

Dr. Abba Aliyu, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the REA, congratulated Transcorp Energy on its successful bid and reaffirmed the agency's commitment to empowering the private sector in Nigeria's electrification drive.

The project is part of a broader strategy to modernize Nigeria's power sector and reduce reliance on expensive self-generation.
