Transcorp Hotels Appoints Muyiwa Akinyemi to Board

Transcorp Hotels Plc announced the appointment of Muyiwa Akinyemi as an independent non-executive director on its board, effective April 1, 2026. This appointment is subject to ratification at the company's next general meeting of shareholders.

Akinyemi brings over three decades of experience in Nigeria's financial services sector, which includes wholesale and retail banking, investment banking, and capital market strategy. He has recently served as the Deputy Managing Director at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, overseeing the bank's operations across Nigeria, including corporate and retail banking divisions.

Akinyemi is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds memberships in the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He earned a B.Sc. in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University and completed an advanced executive program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as programs at Cambridge University and Harvard Business School.
