NEDC and NCC Ranked Among Nigeria's Best Public Institutions

The Transparency Watch Initiative released a report in Abuja on Friday, ranking the North East Development Commission (NEDC) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) among Nigeria's top-performing public institutions. Dr.

Ifur Ataifur, the Executive Director of the initiative, assessed federal agencies based on transparency practices and fiscal discipline. The NEDC was recognized for its impactful development model and consistent infrastructure rehabilitation, humanitarian interventions, and educational support in the insurgency-affected North East region.

The NCC was commended for its regulatory efficiency and contribution to broadband expansion and digital inclusion, maintaining industry stability despite inflationary pressures. The report emphasized the importance of public institutions embracing transparency and operational discipline to strengthen public confidence in governance.

Other agencies recognized alongside NEDC and NCC included the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and others, showcasing a commitment to delivering public value.
