NCC and NEDC Ranked Among Nigeria's Best Public Institutions

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the North East Development Commission (NEDC) have been ranked among the best-performing public institutions in Nigeria, as per a report released on Friday by the Fiscal Responsibility Institute. The report, part of the Transparency Watch Initiative, was assessed by Dr.

Ifur Ataifur and focuses on federal agencies' fair practices, fiscal discipline, project implementation, and regulatory efficiency. The NCC and NEDC were noted for their contributions to national development goals, with the NCC being highlighted as a strong example of regulatory efficiency within Nigeria's public sector.

The report also ranked other federal government agencies, including the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Debt Management Office (DMO), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). The NCC's efforts have significantly contributed to digital access and broadband penetration, which are vital for the country's economic growth.
