Trial of Alleged Ansaru Terrorists Stalled in Abuja Federal High Court

The trial of alleged Ansaru terrorist group leaders, Mahmud Usman Abubakar and Abba Feder, at the Abuja Federal High Court was delayed as defense lawyers requested more time to prepare. Usman pleaded guilty to 10 out of 32 terrorism charges, while Abba pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The court granted the defense more time and ordered regular visits to the defendants by their lawyers. The prosecution, led by Moham Babadoko, accused the defendants of committing crimes between 2015 and 2024, including bombing a military canton in Niger State.

The trial is set to resume on January 15.
