Troops Arrest Suspected Gunrunners, Seize Ammunition

Troops from the Nigerian Army's 6 Brigade, under the command of Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Michael Akaliro, arrested two suspected gunrunners in Taraba State. The suspects, identified as Wisdom Soomga, 32, from Ukum Local Government Area in Benue State, and Elisha Danladi, 38, from Wukari Local Government Area in Taraba State, were intercepted while riding a motorcycle.

A thorough search led to the recovery of 444 rounds of 7.63mm special ammunition, as well as 29,200 Naira in cash, two mobile phones, an ATM card, charms, and personal belongings. The recovered items are currently in custody for further investigation to determine the source and intended use of the ammunition.

Brigadier General Akaliro praised the troops for their vigilance and prompt response in tackling criminal activities to improve security in Taraba State.
