Troops Neutralize Two Terrorists in Katsina Operation

Troops from the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army conducted a successful operation in Katsina State, specifically in the Matazu Local Government Area, targeting a terrorist enclave in Ginchawa Village. The operation, which took place in the early hours of Monday, was based on credible intelligence.

Captain Abayomi Adisa, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 17 Brigade, disclosed that the troops launched a dawn assault on the camp, catching the terrorists unaware. During the encounter, two terrorists were neutralized, while several others managed to escape, leaving behind traces of blood.

The troops recovered significant items, including two PKT machine guns, an AK-47 magazine with 75 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, three motorcycles, two mobile phones, a Motorola radio set, a pair of camouflage uniforms, and livestock. Importantly, there were no casualties reported among military personnel during the operation, underscoring the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts by the 17 Brigade.
