Troops Ambush Terrorists in Katsina, Recover Weapons

On May 9, 2023, troops from the 17 Brigade Nigerian Army conducted an ambush operation against suspected terrorists in Dutsin Ma Local Government Area, Katsina State. The operation, part of ongoing military efforts to combat criminal groups in the region, resulted in the neutralization of three suspects.

Captain Abayomi Adisa, the Army Public Relations Officer for the 17 Brigade, disclosed that the troops set up a blocking position along the Turar Kitibawa Kuka Mai Damusa road. During the ambush, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle with a loaded magazine containing three rounds of ammunition, a motorcycle, three cutlasses, assorted charms, and a cash sum of N3,500.

The military continues its offensive operations to restore peace and security across Katsina State and has called on residents to support security agencies with credible intelligence.
