Troops Neutralize Three Terrorists in Katsina Ambush

On May 9, 2026, troops from the Nigerian Army's 17 Brigade conducted an ambush operation in Katsina State, resulting in the neutralization of three terrorists. The operation took place along the Turar Kitibawa Kuka Mai Damusa road in the Dutsin Ma Local Government Area at approximately 9:40 PM.

Captain Abayomi Adisa, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 17 Brigade, reported that the troops intercepted a group of terrorists fleeing from military operations in the Matazu general area. During the ambush, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition, three cutlasses, assorted charms, and a cash sum of N3,500.

The 17 Brigade troops are deployed at Forward Operating Base Fudma and are actively engaged in operations against terrorist and criminal elements in Katsina State to restore peace and improve security in affected communities.
