Troops Neutralize Terrorists, Bust Drug Ring in Katsina

On May 9, 2023, troops from the Joint Task Force North West, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, conducted operations across Katsina State, resulting in the neutralization of three suspected terrorists. The operation took place in the local government areas of Matazu, Musawa, Kankia, Dutsin Ma, and Malumfashi.

Following credible intelligence regarding terrorist movements, troops successfully ambushed the suspects, recovering two AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, three cutlasses, and assorted charms. Concurrently, a separate operation targeting drug trafficking led to the arrest of six individuals identified as Sani Rabiu, Umar Nasiru, Abulkubu Aminu, Abdullahi Halilu, Abubakar Rabiu, and Dahiru Danja.

The operation yielded 82.5 grams of suspected cannabis sativa, 15.7 grams of exol, and 5.18 grams of D5 narcotics. The recovered livestock is under military custody and will be handed over to local authorities.
