Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar Reports 1,106 Terrorists Neutralized

During his farewell address at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, Borno State, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the outgoing Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, reported the neutralization of 1,106 terrorists. The military operations also resulted in the arrest of at least 758 logistics collaborators supporting insurgent groups.

Troops recovered over 475 assorted weapons and 24,409 rounds of various calibre ammunition, along with the discovery and safe detonation of 295 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Abubakar attributed these operational successes to a strategic combination of sustained kinetic pressure and robust non-kinetic engagements, which led to over 969 JAS/ISWAP fighters and their family members surrendering in the past year.

He highlighted major victories in rescue operations, including the rescue of 638 civilians and all 46 students during an attempted abduction at the Federal Government Girls College in Monguno. Notable insurgent leaders were also neutralized, and Abubakar expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve.
