Major General Abubakar Reports Over 1,100 Terrorists Killed

Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the outgoing Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, announced the neutralization of over 1,106 JAS/ISWAP terrorists and the detention of 758 suspected logistics collaborators during his command. This information was disclosed during the handover ceremony to Major General Ibikunle Ajose at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri.

The operation, which spans Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, resulted in the deaths of several senior terrorist commanders and the recovery of over 475 weapons and 24,409 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 295 improvised explosive devices were discovered and detonated, and over N300 million linked to terrorist financiers was intercepted.

Abubakar reported the rescue of 638 civilians, including 46 students from an attempted abduction at the Girls College in Monguno. More than 969 JAS/ISWAP fighters and their families surrendered, while over 7,000 displaced families returned to their communities.

The incoming commander, Major General Ajose, pledged to continue the progress made under Abubakar's leadership.
