Troops from Sub-Sector 71 Eliminate Five Kidnappers in Kaduna

On September 21, 2026, troops from Sub-Sector 71 engaged in a gun battle in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of five suspected kidnappers. This incident occurred shortly after midnight, following the arrest of these suspects on September 20.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the suspects had confessed to various criminal activities during interrogation and agreed to lead the troops to their syndicate's hideouts. While en route to these locations at approximately 12:30 am, the troops encountered other members of the criminal group, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

The five previously arrested suspects were killed during this encounter, while other syndicate members managed to flee. No casualties were reported among the troops, who have since initiated efforts to locate and apprehend the fleeing criminals as operations continue in the area.
