Troops Neutralize 80 ISWAP Terrorists in Borno Attack

In the early hours of Wednesday, troops from the Joint Task Force North East, under the command of Lt. Col.

Sani Uba, successfully repelled a coordinated five-pronged terrorist attack on their positions in Mallam Fatori, Borno State. The assault involved a large number of terrorists attempting to breach troop defenses, but they faced overwhelming resistance.

The operation resulted in the neutralization of no fewer than 80 terrorists, including three high-profile ISWAP commanders: Mallam Abdulrahman Gobara, Mallam Ba Yuram, and Abou Ayyuba. The troops received close air support, which complemented their rapid strike capabilities.

They recovered significant caches of arms and ammunition, including 52 AK-47 rifles, eight PKT machine guns, and 3,000 rounds of assorted ammunition. Despite the scale of the assault, the troops recorded minimal casualties, with four soldiers wounded.

The operation represents a major setback for the terrorist network and underscores the effectiveness of the military's tactics in the region.
