Operation FANSAN YAMMA Troops Neutralize Terrorist in Sokoto

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, neutralized a terrorist and recovered significant arms and logistics after raiding a suspected terrorist enclave in Gudu Local Government Area, Sokoto State. The operation was based on credible intelligence, leading the troops to advance toward a terrorist camp in Karani village.

Upon contact with the hostile elements, the troops engaged with decisive firepower, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist while others fled. During the subsequent search of the camp, the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle loaded with live ammunition, one operational motorcycle, military camouflage uniforms, and various maintenance tools and logistical supplies.

Following the encounter, clearance operations were executed in the surrounding forest to dominate the area and prevent fleeing elements from regrouping. Lt Colonel Olaniyi Osoba described the recovery as a significant blow to the operational capability of the terrorists.

The operation reaffirmed the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to continue aggressive actions against terrorists and urged local residents to provide credible information to aid ongoing operations.
