Troops Repel Terrorist Attack in Borno, Soldiers Lost

On April 9, 2026, at approximately 12:30 AM, troops from the 29 Task Force Brigade, under the command of Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah, successfully repelled a terrorist attack on their headquarters in Benisheikh, Borno State. The Defence Headquarters, through Major General Michael Onoja, confirmed that while the troops engaged the insurgents, there were casualties among the soldiers.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of brave soldiers and praised their courage and heroism in defending the nation against Boko Haram. He urged the military leadership to remain resolute and not to be discouraged by the losses.
