Troops Successfully Repel Terrorist Attack in Borno State

Troops from the 153 Task Force Battalion, part of the Joint Task Force North East, successfully repelled a terrorist attack in Borno State, Nigeria, along the Nigeria-Cameroon border. The attack was detected early by soldiers and members of the civilian Joint Task Force, prompting a swift response that involved heavy fire.

The attackers retreated towards Cameroon. Lt.

Col. Sani Uba, the media information officer for the Joint Task Force North East, reported that air surveillance and reconnaissance assets supported ground troops during the engagement.

Following the encounter, troops discovered a blood trail indicating that several fighters had fled with gunshot wounds. The operation resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a rocket-propelled grenade system, ammunition packets, and a machine gun.

This marked the third successful defense operation in the area within a week, with military command urging forces to maintain pressure on the insurgent groups operating in the volatile border region.
