Troops Rescue 360 Hostages in Borno State Operation

Nigerian troops successfully rescued 360 captives in Borno State during a military operation aimed at dismantling insurgent networks. The operation, which began following credible intelligence, pinpointed the exact location of hostages held in harsh conditions around Ngosh Axi.

Lieutenant Colonel Haruna M. Sani, spokesperson for the operation Hadin Kai, reported that the mission involved special forces troops who executed a multi-axis night operation, isolating the insurgent camp and blocking escape routes.

The operation was supported by real-time intelligence and drone feeds, leading to the surprise of insurgents, some of whom fled while others surrendered. Among the rescued were two infants who were in a weakened state due to prolonged captivity.

The 358 rescued individuals received immediate medical care and humanitarian support. The military high command praised the courage and professionalism of the personnel involved, emphasizing ongoing efforts to neutralize remaining terrorist elements and dismantle their support networks in the region.
