Operation ENDURING PEACE Rescues Victims, Arrests Suspects

Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE successfully rescued two kidnapped victims, arrested 12 suspected criminals, and recovered weapons during security operations across Plateau State. These operations, conducted by troops from Sectors 1, 3, and 8 of the Joint Task Force, were initiated following credible intelligence regarding kidnapping activities in Jos North, Bassa, and Mangu Local Government Areas.

On September 19, troops from Sector 1 raided criminal hideouts in Jos North, leading to the arrest of 11 suspects, aided by information from two victims abducted on September 18. In a separate operation, Sector 3 troops in Bassa recovered a locally fabricated rifle and arrested one suspect.

Additionally, Sector 8 troops apprehended a suspect attempting to conceal a weapon, recovering an automatic weapon and ammunition. The arrested suspects are undergoing further investigation.

Major General Maxwell Dangana, Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE, commended the troops for their efforts and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining security.
