Operation ENDURING PEACE Rescues Kidnapped Victims in 2026

Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and arrested 11 suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate during operations in Plateau State. This was reported by Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, on September 21, 2026.

The operations occurred on September 19, 2026, following credible intelligence about kidnappers in the Rayfield and other areas of Jos North Local Government Area. Troops raided suspected hideouts in Shere, Gwafan, and Maza Hills, leading to the arrests.

The victims, abducted from Gwafan on September 18, 2026, identified three of the arrested suspects as part of their abductors. Additionally, troops in Bassa Local Government Area recovered a locally fabricated rifle and arrested another suspect during a cordon-and-search operation.

Troops are currently working to apprehend other members of the syndicate. Major General Maxwell Dangana commended the troops for their professionalism and urged them to maintain their operational momentum.
