Troops Thwart Terror Assault in Borno, Neutralize Insurgents

Troops from the Joint Task Force North East, operating under the Hadin Kai initiative, successfully thwarted a coordinated terrorist assault aimed at overrunning military positions in Borno, specifically in Konduga, Jakana, and Mainok. The attack, which began around 10:30 PM and lasted several hours, involved fierce engagements where troops mounted a determined resistance to maintain their defensive positions.

Reinforcement units executed tactical flank maneuvers that disorganized the insurgent forces, leading to their withdrawal despite isolated breaches. During the counter-offensive, several insurgent leaders were neutralized, and additional fighters were eliminated.

The operation was confirmed by security officials, including Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, who noted that precise air strikes coordinated with ground forces targeted fleeing hostile positions, further degrading the insurgents' capabilities. The military acknowledged structural damage in the area but emphasized that military installations remain under government control.

The swift response of the troops prevented a significant security breach and protected civilian communities, with operations continuing to dismantle insurgent capabilities.
