Troops Repel Terrorist Attack in Borno State

On March 3, troops from the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai successfully foiled a terrorist attack on a military position located in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. Lt.

Col. Sani Uba, the spokesman for the operation, disclosed that the terrorists launched their attack but were met with a swift counter-offensive from the military.

Reinforcements were mobilized from the forward operating base in Pulka, specifically the 151 Battalion, to support the troops under attack. During the operation, the troops encountered an ambush and faced improvised explosive devices that damaged two tires of their MRAP vehicles.

Despite these challenges, the troops continued their advance and engaged in an exchange of fire with the insurgents. Following the confrontation, the troops pursued the fleeing insurgents and recovered three AK-47 rifles and a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) barrel.
