Troost-Ekong to Assist in AFCON 2027 Qualifiers Draw

William Troost-Ekong, the former captain of the Super Eagles, has been selected to assist in the draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the draw ceremony will be held at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).

Troost-Ekong is recognized as one of the best defenders Africa has ever produced. He will join three other continental legends: Max Alain Gradel, Essam El Hadari, and Tresor Mputu, for this significant event.

The draw will include 48 countries, with three co-hosts: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. These nations will be divided into 12 groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the final tournament.

The AFCON 2027 final is scheduled to take place from June 19 to July 17, 2027.
