Nigerian Youth Face Bureaucratic Hurdles in Careers

Timiebi Koripamo-Agary raises alarm over the difficulties Nigerian youth encounter while trying to begin their professional careers. He notes that many young graduates, particularly from struggling families, face significant obstacles in obtaining essential documents like the NYSC Call-Up Letter and professional registrations.

These challenges include bureaucratic delays and the need for repeated travel to major cities such as Abuja and Lagos. Koripamo-Agary emphasizes that these young individuals, who have invested years in their education and earned their qualifications, should not have to endure such frustrations at the onset of their careers.

He argues that in the modern era of Information and Communications Technology, there should be seamless electronic communication between institutions, enabling timely verification and processing of graduates' information. He also points out that the burden of these bureaucratic hurdles disproportionately affects children from less privileged backgrounds compared to those from affluent families.
