Truck Crash Ignites Fire at Agulu Church in Anambra

On Wednesday, a heavy-duty truck crashed into St. Matthias Catholic Church located along Agulu Lake, near the Golden Tulip Hotel road in Anambra State, causing a significant fire.

Eyewitness Simpli Uzor reported that the truck was traveling at full speed when it veered off the road, crashed into the church's fence, and ignited a fire. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported, and the driver fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The Anambra State Fire Service, led by Chukwudi Chiketa, confirmed the incident and attributed it to the truck losing control due to speed. Firefighters responded quickly to the distress call, successfully containing the fire and preventing further escalation.

The operation concluded with the firemen ensuring the area was safe before withdrawing. The incident caused panic and gridlock in the vicinity, with motorists slowing down to witness the situation.
